Grape polyphenols are extracted from the seeds, skins, and pomace of Vitis vinifera (grape) using aqueous-ethanol methods. The polyphenolic complex includes proanthocyanidins (OPCs), resveratrol, anthocyanins, catechins, and quercetin.
These compounds are associated with the "French Paradox" and have extensive evidence supporting cardiovascular protection through antioxidant activity, LDL oxidation inhibition, and endothelial function improvement. Grape polyphenols also demonstrate anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and neuroprotective properties. They are commercially used in heart health supplements, anti-aging nutraceuticals, functional foods, and premium cosmeceutical formulations.
