Mulberry Leaf Extract is produced by water or ethanol extraction of dried white mulberry (Morus alba) leaves, concentrated and standardised to active compounds including 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ, 1-2%), rutin, chlorogenic acid and polysaccharides.
DNJ selectively inhibits intestinal α-glucosidase, slowing carbohydrate absorption and reducing post-meal blood-sugar spikes, making mulberry leaf extract a key ingredient in diabetic-support and glycemic-control products.
