Calcium Stearate (E470) is produced by the precipitation reaction between calcium chloride and sodium stearate, or by direct reaction of stearic acid with calcium hydroxide.
Food-grade Calcium Stearate is a white, odourless, tasteless, greasy powder that is GRAS-classified by FDA and approved in Codex Alimentarius. Its amphiphilic nature makes it effective as a flow aid, anti-caking agent, and emulsion stabiliser in dry blends, confectionery, and powdered foods.
