Copper Bisglycinate is a mineral amino acid chelate consisting of a divalent copper ion coordinated with two glycine molecules in a stable ring structure. This chelation protects the copper from interacting with dietary inhibitors such as phytates, fiber, and other minerals during digestion, resulting in significantly higher absorption compared to inorganic copper salts. Copper is an essential trace mineral required for numerous enzymatic reactions, including those involved in iron metabolism, connective tissue synthesis, and antioxidant defense. The bisglycinate form is gentle on the stomach and does not cause metallic taste or nausea.
