Ethyl Butyrate (ethyl butanoate) is a short-chain ester naturally found in many fruits (apple, pineapple, strawberry) and dairy products.
It has an intense fruity aroma reminiscent of pineapple and tropical fruits at low concentrations. One of the most widely used fruit flavour compounds in the food industry, it is used in artificial fruit flavours, beverages, candy, ice cream and bakery products.
