Magnesium Glycinate is an organic magnesium salt formed by chelating elemental magnesium with two molecules of glycine. This chelated structure allows the magnesium to be absorbed through amino acid absorption pathways, resulting in significantly higher bioavailability compared to magnesium oxide or citrate. The glycine component itself offers complementary benefits as an inhibitory neurotransmitter that may promote relaxation. Magnesium Glycinate is particularly well-tolerated with a much lower incidence of diarrhea compared to other forms, and is typically standardized to contain 10-16% elemental magnesium.
