Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO₄) is available as anhydrous, monohydrate, or heptahydrate (Epsom salt) forms. In food it serves as a firming agent for tofu, a yeast nutrient in brewing, a magnesium fortification source and a processing aid.
In agriculture it provides both magnesium and sulfur to plants. Pharmaceutically used as an osmotic laxative, anticonvulsant (IV) and bath soak for muscle recovery.
