BCAA refers to the three essential branched-chain amino acids — L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine — typically blended in a 2:1:1 ratio.
Produced by fermentation, BCAAs are the primary amino acids oxidised during exercise and are critical for stimulating muscle protein synthesis (especially leucine via mTOR signalling). This reduces exercise-induced muscle damage and supporting recovery.
