L-Lysine Monohydrochloride (L-Lysine HCl) is the most commercially important salt form of L-Lysine. It provides enhanced stability and handling characteristics compared to the free base. It contains approximately 78-80% L-Lysine activity on a dry basis.
This form is the dominant product in the global animal feed amino acid market, particularly for poultry and swine nutrition. It is produced through large-scale microbial fermentation using Corynebacterium glutamicum, followed by crystallization as the hydrochloride salt. L-Lysine HCl's excellent flowability, low hygroscopicity, and consistent quality make it the preferred form for both feed premix and food-grade applications.
