Chili pepper extract is produced from the fruits of various Capsicum species (C. Annuum, C. Frutescens, C. Chinense) through oleoresin extraction or direct powder concentration.
The extract contains a complex of capsaicinoids, with capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin as the predominant active compounds. These compounds activate thermogenesis, enhance metabolic rate, and provide analgesic effects through TRPV1 receptor modulation. Chili pepper extract also contains carotenoids, flavonoids, and vitamins A and C. It is commercially applied in weight management supplements, food flavoring, topical pain relief products, and self-defense formulations.
